CTLGroup was engaged by Walsh to provide mass concrete consulting, mix design consulting, and a thermal control plan for tunnel plugs in the Deep Tunnel project. The tunnel plugs were 28 ft. in diameter and 44 ft. long. In other sections of the tunnel our team evaluated concrete mix-designs and made changes to improve pumpability for use in a 2000 ft. slickline. This was done while addressing shrinkage and thermal concerns. CTLGroup’s expertise allowed our client to complete important stages of the deep Tunnel project.
