Despite growing concerns related to aging infrastructure and increased demand, funding for expansion, rehabilitation or replacement at state and federal levels has remained limited and inadequate. Shortages in monetary resources have served to provide strong incentive for taking a different approach to infrastructure asset management. Implementing strategies for extending service life and building more sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure has now become a priority.
In the past, many Owners have made important decisions related to the disposition of an asset based primarily on consideration of age. However, making important management decisions based on limited, incomplete or inaccurate information can result in a waste of precious resources, and often negates the opportunity to optimize repair or rehabilitation strategies and improve future designs. At a time when funds for maintenance, repair or replacement of water and wastewater infrastructure are limited, Owners need proven and effective assessment tools that will result in reliable data necessary for making technically-sound economic and asset management decisions.
CTLGroup has been helping Water Resource Asset Owners for several decades by providing condition assessment, failure causation investigation, structural evaluation, materials consulting, repair/rehabilitation consulting, and pre-construction and/or construction services and expertise. Water & wastewater projects often create unique challenges related to access limitations, safety and timing. Specialized or innovative approaches are often needed to provide reliable assessments of condition, deterioration mechanisms and deterioration rates. Drawing upon experience gained from successful execution of hundreds of projects, CTLGroup’s engineers and scientists are well versed in handling such challenges, and possesses the expertise and resources needed to solve complex problems and help Clients manage their water & wastewater assets.
