Many older reinforced concrete ring walls that support steel storage tanks, may have been constructed long before air entrainment was used, or exhibit damage due to alkali silica reaction (ASR) or other materials-related distress. Unfortunately, this results in significant concrete deterioration and reduced structural performance.
CTLGroup has evaluated numerous reinforced concrete ring wall foundations for BP Pipeline. We have provided evaluation, testing, engineering design and consulting services to address concrete performance, durability and life-cycle serviceability with practical repair solutions to restore these foundation structures.
We diagnosed and resolved issues of durability in these reinforced concrete ringwalls using our in-house testing facilities and multidisciplinary staff. This team allowed us to solve numerous construction and materials related problems and develop progressive repair and restoration techniques.
