CTLGroup Congratulates Consultant Staff on Promotions

December 13, 2022 (Skokie, Ill.) – CTLGroup, an internationally recognized engineering, architecture, and materials science consulting firm announced today that four of its consultant staff members have been promoted. Pavan Vaddey, Ph.D., Dean Adams, Sean Fields, and Nathan Gundlach have all exhibited exemplary performance as consultants at CTLGroup.

Pavan Vaddey, Ph.D. was promoted to Associate III. Dr. Vaddey has over six years of experience in characterization and assessment of Portland cement concrete systems, experimental data visualization and interpretation, statistical analyses and modelling, and represents CTLGroup on the ACI committees 212 on Admixtures, 222 on Corrosion, and 365 on Service Life. His expertise lies in designing concrete mixtures for various field applications, concrete troubleshooting, and providing solutions for enhancing concrete durability. Vaddey earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University in 2020.

Dean R. Adams was promoted to Associate III.  He has a vast amount of experience with evaluation of materials that include concrete, mortar, grout, brick, concrete block, terrazzo, ceramic tile, resilient flooring covering, hardwood, self-leveling underlayment, epoxy coating, and represents CTLGroup on the ASTM Committee F06 on resilient floor coverings. Adams has been a member of CTLGroup since February of 2007 and has been involved in a variety of projects for repair, remediation, and restoration, ranging from field evaluations, non- and semi-destructive testing, forensic investigations, and litigation support. He earned his master’s degree from Ohio University in 2014.

Sean Fields was promoted to Associate II.  Fields’ experience includes building and structural damage investigations and evaluations as a member of CTLGroup’s Structural Engineering & Evaluation team. He has conducted numerous property damage investigations following hurricanes and other severe weather events, performed industrial structural evaluations, and supported the investigation of large-scale structural collapses.  Fields is also an FAA licensed commercial drone pilot. Mr. Fields earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 2020.

Nathan Gundlach was promoted to Associate II. His experience includes structural performance evaluation, monitoring, vibration analysis, quality assurance inspection, and more. Gundlach has been with CTLGroup since August of 2020 and works on a wide array of projects including field structural evaluations, non- and semi-destructive testing, instrumentation, forensic investigations, and litigation support. Gundlach is also an FAA licensed commercial drone pilot. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2020.
