Zachary A. Kaufman

Zachary brings a strong background in analytical chemistry and quality assurance to CTLGroup, with hands-on experience across multiple industries. He began his career exploring innovative solutions in renewable energy, researching the potential of algae as a biodiesel source, and later contributed to product testing in the food industry using advanced analytical techniques.

After graduating with a degree in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Zachary gained quality control experience at Bunge, a global vegetable oil producer, where he honed his skills in wet chemistry and gas chromatography. He then advanced his expertise at Covia’s central QA laboratory, working extensively with silica sand, feldspar, clay, and reclaimed foundry sand. There, he specialized in techniques such as XRF, XRD, ICP-OES, and SEM, helping connect lab results to production conditions to identify and resolve complex quality challenges.

At CTLGroup, Zachary applies this broad technical foundation to deliver reliable, data-driven insights for clients. His ability to connect advanced testing with practical solutions helps ensure projects move forward with clarity and confidence.
