Aggregates
Our laboratory has the equipment and staff knowledge, experience, and expertise to perform many standard and uncommon tests on aggregate used in the construction industry. Our staff is well versed in ASTM, AASHTO, CSA, USACE, and EN test procedures and have the flexibility to perform many tests outside our standard services when called upon. We can perform on-site sampling or perform testing on samples shipped to us. Testing includes standard physical properties, petrography, abrasion resistance, chemical attack, freeze-thaw durability, and many others.
Our Testing Capabilities
Between our aggregate, mortar, and concrete lab and our petrographic group we can perform all analysis methods included in ASTM C1778, “Standard Guide for Reducing the Risk of Deleterious Alkali-Aggregate Reaction in Concrete”, and AASHTO R80, “Standard Practice for Determining the Reactivity of Concrete Aggregates and Selecting Appropriate Measures for Preventing Deleterious Expansion in New Concrete Construction.” We also have the capabilities to perform additional test methods not included in the C1778 guide, both current methods and withdrawn methods.
