Skokie Water Reclaimation Plant

Since project completion, the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant disinfection upgrades have provided additional disinfection facilities for water in the Chicago Area, improving the water quality discharged into the Chicago River.

CTLGroup developed a thermal control plan for the mass concrete slab and wall placements at the Disinfection Facility. Thermal modeling was performed to predict temperatures and temperature differences in the wall and slab placements.

The O’Brien WRP is one of seven wastewater treatment facilities owned and operated by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District which currently serves over 1.3 million people of 143 square miles within the greater Chicgao area.
