Ryan Field Stadium Assessment

CTLGroup performed a comprehensive investigation of the entire stadium and facade with the following objectives:

  • Review condition assessments from previous years work
  • Perform a visual inspection, assess overall condition of the structure, and identify areas of repair
  • Perform visual review of bench bracket anchors in slab-on-grade areas
  • Perform up-close investigation of the east and west facade to assess overall conditions and identify potential fall hazards
  • Prepare a set of drawings and outline specification for repair program
  • Visually review maintenance repair work

CTLGroup observed that the waterproofing membrane at the upper deck exhibited significant wear due to recoating, some bench bracket anchorage locations displayed cracking in the supporting concrete, and a beam supporting a ramp on the east side of the stadium was spalled, requiring repair. The assessment also revealed that the majority of the maintenance repairs performed in previous years were holding up well. CTLGroup worked closely with the Architectural/Engineering design team and the University to provide a set of drawings and specifications to develop design criteria and renovation program strategies.
