Merdeka PNB 118 Tower Evaluation

CTLGroup was retained by SAMSUNG Construction/UEM Group Bhd joint venture (SUJV) to perform a forensic investigation related to the construction of concrete foundation elements for the new PNB Merdeka 118 supertall building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. CTLGroup assisted SUJV to evaluate the quality, strength, and uniformity of subgrade concrete foundation elements that were alleged to have been improperly constructed.

CTLGroup services included onsite field investigation utilizing our staff of senior professional engineering concrete experts, review of testing methodologies, and development of recommendations for repair of these concrete elements. CTLGroup’s recommendations were ultimately accepted by the engineer of record, enabling SUJV to proceed with construction.
