CTLGroup’s chemistry laboratory offers comprehensive chemical screening and identification of constituents including unknown and trace element analysis. Our laboratory is equipped with instruments and experienced technical experts that can address anything from standardized testing to in-depth failure analysis.
Our tool chest includes X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) for phase identification of crystalline materials and average bulk composition determination. We also conduct X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), which is routinely used in cement manufacturing quality control for compositional analysis of raw material feeds and cements. Additionally, CTLGroup performs fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and ultraviolet-visible spectrometry (UV-Vis) to identify and quantify organic compounds such as polymers, chemical admixtures, chemical additives, oils, paints, and coatings. FTIR spectroscopy also has applications for inorganic materials such as clays, gypsum, silicates, and carbonates.
