Laura Powers Receives the WOC 2019 Poster Award

Congratulations to Laura Powers and former employee Victoria Jennings on receiving the World of Coal Ash (WOC) 2019 Poster Award for Excellence in the Field of Ash Research.

CTLGroup was awarded the BEST TECHNICAL POSTER category out of 25 submittals. This category was sponsored by Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). EPRI had three judges that chose the first and second place poster award winners. The criteria these posters were judged on included, quality of work, relevance, preparation/clarity, and overall impression.

“The Poster Session at the World of Coal Ash is one of the most important aspects of the conference. It is underrated, as people think that oral presentations hold more importance than posters, but the amount of information you can give, the amount of networking you can do, and the amount a person can learn, or teach, during a poster session is invaluable,” stated Anne Oberlink, WOCA 2019 – Technical Program Chair.
