Poole Speaks at FHWA Workshop in Washington D.C.
Dr. Toy Poole, Senior Principal Scientist in Materials Consulting at CTLGroup, gave a presentation at an FHWA workshop on Sept. 29 & 30 at the Turner Fairbanks Research Facility in Washington D.C. The presentation, titled "Practice and Problems in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Concrete Construction Using Coal Fly Ash," covered practices involving use of coal fly ash in Corps of Engineers construction of airfields and hydraulic structures. Also covered were descriptions of problems that were encountered in this practice that may be inhibiting larger uses of this waste material.
