Dr. Mullapudi is a structural engineer with more than 15 years of industrial, research, and managerial experience. His focus is in forensics, analysis, design, and strengthening of residential, commercial, onshore, nuclear, petrochemical, and environmental structures for normal design loads and, natural and man-made disasters including earthquake, blast, impact, fire, and hurricane extreme loadings.
Prior to joining CTLGroup, Dr. Mullapudi worked as a Structural Consulting Engineer in several engineering firms, where he designed and strengthened the structures made up of steel, concrete, masonry and wood. He also served as an adjunct assistant professor in Houston.
Dr. Mullapudi has also spent several years in research and development and has developed inelastic finite element models under static and dynamic loads for structural systems subjected to combined axial, shear, flexure and torsional loads. He also developed inelastic models for soil-structure interaction, conducted Non Destructive Testing (NDT) to concrete mixed with carbon-nanofibers, studied the behavior of connections between concrete and steel, and developed the constitutive models for reinforced concrete structures.
He has authored and co-authored several journal papers, books, and conference proceedings on topics of analysis of structures under seismic loadings, soil structure interaction, impact loadings, materials, and fastening technology.
