North Carolina Chemical Procedure #C-20.0 Determination of Nitrite in Hardened Concrete.Lab ID 797

Use
To determine if an accelerating admixture containing nitrite is present in a sample.

Instructions
A concrete cylinder or 3? core is the preferred sample. If submitting as a powder please submit at least 50 grams ground to pass a No. 50 sieve. Admixture and /or technical sheets and MSDS should also be submitted. Submittal of a sample with a known amount of admixture is recommended.

Results Produced
The tests determines the concentration of nitrite in percent or mg/kg (ppm). The amount of calcium nitrite or the amount of a calcium nitrite containing admixture can be calculated if sufficient background information is provided. A relative concentration can be reported if good and bad samples have been submitted.

Time for Results
Results are usually available within 10 working days.
