ASTM C 265 Water-Extractable Sulfate in Hydrated Hydraulic Cement MortarLab ID 524

Use
Determines compliance with specification of residual water soluble S03 after curing in a 22C water bath at 24 hours. ASTM C 265 allows the client to specify the curing age of 3 or 7 days in place of 24 hours to match the age of testing utilized in ASTM C 563. If other than 24 hours is required the client must specify the age required. This measurement is assumed to represent un-reacted, free calcium sulfate remaining in the mortar.

Results Produced
Soluble S03 in gram/liter at the age(s) specified by the client. ASTM C265 and ASTM C563 (Optimum SO3 approximation) both allow for testing at 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days. The client must specify the age this test is to be conducted at, and it is to correlate with the age the optimum SO3 was determined at (ASTM C563). On request the test may be conducted at more than 1 age. Please supply a minimum of 600 grams for each test age requested.
