Other Services
It's a stressful world. When you need to know what might happen, call CTLGroup.
CTLGroup engineers are often called upon to determine what can happen when a structure is exposed to various loadings. Structural engineers apply advanced finite element methods for analysis of structures ranging from simple to highly complex, including:
- Buildings
- Bridges
- Parking garages
- Foundations
- Tanks
- Cooling towers
- Chimneys
- Pipelines
- Railway tracks
Applying these methods allows stress and deformation levels from gravity, thermal, wind, vibration, earthquake, blast or a variety of other loadings to be predicted with a high degree of accuracy. The analyses can be used to determine the cause of a past failure, the compliance of a structure to applicable code requirements or the predicted response to a future extreme event. The computer models can then be readily modified to investigate the cost and benefit of possible repair options and conduct what-if scenarios.
CTLGroup maintains licenses for a broad range of state-of-the-art analysis and design software including:
- SAP2000
- ETABS
- RISA3D
- ABAQUS
- DIANA
- ADAPT-Floor
- RAM-Concept
These programs allow structures to be investigated for both linear elastic response and non-linear effects such as material cracking or yielding, local or global buckling and progressive collapse.
Combining highly specialized structural analysis capabilities with expertise in field investigations, non-destructive examination methods, materials knowledge and laboratory testing capability allows us to provide complete solutions to client issues that few other firms can match.
