Report Points to Connections in Fatal Garage-Panel Event
CTLGroup was mentioned in a December 1 ENR article regarding the repair of a municipal parking structure at O’Donnell Park in Milwaukee, WI. On June 24, a 27,000-lb precast-concrete facade panel fell off the building, resulting in one fatality.
Officials in Milwaukee County plan to let bids in the next two weeks for the repair of the structure. The county’s 2011 budget has earmarked $6.5 million for structural work on the garage.
CTLGroup played a critical role in the county’s forensic investigation efforts. Investigators from the firm examined the structure visually as well as with ground-penetrating radar, ultrasonic tests and videoscopic inspection.
