Jones Presents at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Infrastructure Systems Conference
Joni Jones, Supervisor, Materials Laboratory Services at CTLGroup, presented a session at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Infrastructure Systems Conference, on June 13 - 17 in Atlanta, GA at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Her presentation, titled "Understanding the Limits of Deleterious Materials of Aggregates for Airfield Pavement Job Specifications," was held Wed. June 15 at 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
For the case of airfield pavement construction, army corps job specifications have more specific limitations to screen concrete aggregates for deleterious materials that can cause premature structural failure due to expansive reaction. The required testing sequence and some of these limitations are not fully understood. This presentation will describe the purpose and limitation of each requested test method along the sequence and how it relates to current or new test methods. In addition, this presentation will note areas of the job specification that need clarification.
