Kleinhans and Lotfi Speak at 12th Annual Structural Engineering Conference

Danielle Kleinhans, Senior Engineer and Group Manager of Structural Engineering and Mechanics, as well as Chair of the Tranportation Industry Practice Group, at CTLGroup, and Hamid Lotfi, Senior Project Manager, spoke at the 12th Annual Structural Engineering Conference, sponsored by the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The presentation, titled "Forensic Collapse Sequence Modeling of the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis," was held on Mar. 31 at 2:40 p.m.

The presentation focuses on the investigation and analysis conducted regarding the collapse of the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis, which occurred on Aug. 1, 2007. Specifically, Drs. Kleinhans and Lotfi will discuss the finite element modeling that was performed to assess the collapse initiation and sequence using forensic evidence.
