Ann DaughertySenior Petrographer, Manager of Petrography
Ms. Daugherty has over 10 years of experience as a microscopist and concrete petrographer. She has performed petrographic examination (ASTM C856 and ASTM C295) and specialized microscopy of cementitious and geologic construction materials to determine failure mechanisms, assess quality and condition, and performance problems, as well as assisting with condition surveys and restoration of structures. Materials studied include: concrete, mortar, stucco, cast stone, dimensional stone, EIFS, terrazzo, floor tile and flooring systems, raw materials, coatings, aggregates and soils. As project manager of hundreds of projects, Ms. Daugherty has coordinated chemical and physical tests in conjunction with microscopical work. Microscopical methods include stereo and optical microscopy, SEM-EDS and photomicrography.
